EvoLand at the GEO Global Forum EU Booth

3 Apr 2025

EvoLand has been selected to showcase a poster at the EU Booth at the GEO Global Forum, providing an opportunity to present its innovative land monitoring prototypes to a global audience. Our presence at the event aims to strengthen EvoLand’s engagement with the wider Earth observation community and contribute to discussions on advancing land monitoring solutions.

About EvoLand

The Horizon Europe EvoLand project advances the Copernicus Land Monitoring Service (CLMS) by developing innovative methods, algorithms, and prototypes for high-resolution land monitoring. Launched in January 2023, EvoLand has successfully completed its first development phase and is now in the final stages of preparation to present its results by he end of 2025.

EvoLand is developing eleven next-generation CLMS candidates across the Forest, Agriculture, Water, Urban, and General Land Cover domains, leveraging data fusion, machine learning, and continuous monitoring with novel Earth Observation (EO) and in-situ data. The project aligns with policy, data, and infrastructure needs, while actively engaging Copernicus key users and stakeholders.

Built on open-source, scalable platforms and tested globally, the candidate services undergo systematic evaluation to enhance the quality, content, and timeliness of CLMS information, ultimately supporting evidence-based decision-making.

EvoLand, EuroGEO Action groups & GEO Post-2025 Work Programme

Our work contributes to the broader goals of GEO and EuroGEO, helping to harness Earth Observation data for more sustainable, informed land management across Europe and beyond. From tailored land cover mapping services to cutting-edge prototypes, EvoLand is proud to be part of the conversation shaping the future of land monitoring.

Synergies with the EuroGEO Action groups

Through its five domains – Forest, Agriculture, Water, Urban, and General Land Cover – EvoLand directly connects with the ambitions of the EuroGEO Action Groups. Whether tackling land degradation, boosting urban resilience, protecting water resources, or supporting ecosystem restoration, EvoLand’s work helps turn Earth Observation insights into real-world impact. By linking Copernicus Land Monitoring expertise with major policy challenges, we’re helping to drive forward a more sustainable and resilient Europe.
